Police are looking for a vehicle that is suspected of leaving the scene of a Mayfield accident.

Mayfield Police said the accident occurred Thursday night on West Broadway near 8th Street. They said 20-year-old Madison Clapp of Mayfield was westbound on Broadway when the vehicle in front of her abruptly stopped. Clapp said she did not have time to stop, and rear-ended the vehicle.

When the driver pulled into a nearby parking lot, Clapp said she followed, but she told police the other vehicle quickly drove away.

The truck is described as a dark gray 2000- or later-model Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab pickup truck. It has silver or light gray skirting on the bottom half of the body and a tool box in the truck's bed. Police say the truck will likely have damage to its rear end.

Clapp was injured in the crash and was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for treatment.

Anyone with information on the truck that left the scene should contact Mayfield Police at 270-247-1621.
