A prayer vigil will be held in Marshall County this evening to support the victims of the shooting Wednesday at Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

The vigil will be at 6 p.m. at court square in Benton, and will be held regardless of weather conditions. The event is being held to allow Marshall County and western Kentucky residents to show their support for the people of Douglas High School who experienced a similar tragedy yesterday as those at Marshall County High School a few weeks ago.

Organizers say the vigil will not last long, but it is a chance to show support and love to those affected by Wednesday's shooting in the same way they have been supported by other groups all over the country. They went on to say that this type of support has definitely helped get the people of Marshall County through the difficult past weeks.

Vigil organizers ask that everyone wear Marshall strong shirts, bring candles, and posters for support.
