Kentucky State Police responded at 7:30 am to a fatal crash on KY 139 North, just south of the intersection of Carner Hill Road. Troopers said 25-year-old Travis Hale of Princeton was driving north on KY 139 when he crossed the center line and struck a vehicle, driven by 72-year-old Jeraldine Reece of Princeton, head-on.
Reece was pronounced dead at the scene by Caldwell County Coroner Dewayne Trafford. Hale was taken to Caldwell County Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Police said Reece was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but Hale was not.
The crash remains under investigation.
