Two Graves County women are facing theft charges following a report of suspicious activity.

On Tuesday, watchful neighbors in the Pilot Oak community reached out to the Graves County Sheriff's Office after noticing two women acting strangely at a vacant home on KY Highway 94.

Deputies say they were able to determine that numerous items were stolen from the yard of the vacant home. The neighbors were able to provide a description of the vehicle that had been at the property.

A short time later, deputies located the vehicle at a home on Center Street in Mayfield. At the home, deputies reportedly located some of the stolen property and two suspects, 33-year-old Amber Stoltenburg of Mayfield, and 56-year-old Tonya Simmons of Melber.

Stoltenburg and Simmons were both arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking.

The stolen items were returned to the owner.
