River Data From Olmsted Dam Now Available

Over the last year, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has decommissioned both Brookport Locks and Dam and Grand Chain Locks and Dam on the Ohio River. The new Olmsted Locks and Dam was officially opened in late August. 

The National Weather Service has announced that river information at Olmsted for both the headwater/pool and the tailwater can now be found on the Paducah Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service page (linked below.)

Flood-only forecasts will be issued for the Olmsted headwater or pool by the Lower Mississippi River Forecast Center beginning January 8. 

Forecasts will be issued when the pool stage reaches or is forecast to reach 34 feet. The Flood Stage for Olmsted will be 36 feet.
