The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to establish a work zone along a section of KY 303/Cuba Road in GRAVES county starting THIS WEEK.

According to a contractor from the KTC, motorists should be alert for a work zone with intermittent daytime lane restrictions along KY 303/Cuba Road at milepoint 13.343. This work zone is to facilitate scour and erosion mitigation work on the Mayfield Creek Fork Culvert.  This is along KY 303/Cuba Road about 3 miles south of Mayfield near the KY 1890 intersection. Work on the concrete culvert is expected to ramp up this week as weather allows.

Much of the work can be completed with the crew working along right-of-way without the need for lane restrictions.  However, from time to time this work zone is expected to include one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.  Traffic will likely have to be restricted when concrete trucks are making deliveries to the site.

This project is part of an ongoing district-wide effort to improve erosion control and maintenance at bridges and culverts across the region. Harper Construction Company is the prime contractor, and the target completion date is July 15, 2019, weather permitting.

Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
