Two rounds of storms today and tonight look to be scattered, but strong where they occur.

While most of the region will see plenty of sunshine and humidity, the Storm Prediction Center in Norman Oklahoma has placed most of southeast Missouri in a slight risk of severe thunderstorms (2 on a severity scale of 5.)

A marginal risk of severe storms extends slightly eastward into parts of southwestern Illinois and the Mississippi River counties of western Kentucky.

One cluster of thunderstorms is expected to move into southeast Missouri by mid-morning, with the threat continuing through the afternoon.

The overall risk of strong to severe thunderstorms with this first round is somewhat limited, but cannot be ruled out completely.

A second round of thunderstorms is expected to move slightly east of the first round of thunderstorms after midnight tonight.

The main hazards with any of the thunderstorms today and tonight are locally damaging winds, heavy rain, and lightning.
