Search of Mayfield Home Reveals Drugs, Weapons

A man was arrested Sunday after a search of a Mayfield home uncovered illegal drugs, weapons and possible stolen items.

According to police, at around 12:00 p.m. Sunday Mayfield Police officers accompanied by Graves County Sheriff's deputies and the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force executed a narcotics search warrant at 705 West Lee Street in Mayfield. The resident, Joshua Fox was not present, but detectives found Kenneth Thompson inside the home.

During the search, detectives found about 1.5 lbs of marijuana, cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales, and a loaded .380 caliber handgun with extra ammunition. Numerous items of drug paraphernalia, as well as evidence of possible stolen property from an active theft investigation were found.
 
Thompson was lodged in the Graves County Detention Center. He is charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a school (firearm enhanced), possession of drug paraphernalia (firearm enhanced), and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.
 
More people are expected to be charged in connection with this incident. The investigation is ongoing by Mayfield Police detectives.
