Sewage Spill Creates Stinky Mess on US-45

One southbound lane of U.S. 45 was closed for about 2-1/2 hours just north of Mayfield after a truck hauling sewage spilled part of its load.

The accident took place at about 9:15 am at the KY 1276 intersection in Graves County near the old General Tire Plant site. 

Crews set up a lane restriction to allow traffic to get around the incident site while the company responsible for the spill cleans the estimated 300 gallons of sewage from the roadway.

Drivers passing this spill site were warned that the smell is intense.

The scene was clear by about 11:45 am.
