Shoulder Prep Work Starts Monday in Mayfield

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans shoulder and median work along a section of U.S. Highway 45 near the intersection with the U.S. 45-Bypass at the southwest edge of Mayfield starting Monday, April 6.

While few traffic disruptions are expected, drivers should be alert for equipment and construction crews doing prep work between Ingersol Rand Road and Compressor Drive. This initial round of work will prepare for construction of a new intersection to tie in the KY 80 Mayfield Bypass that is already under construction.

The contractor will eventually put a traffic shift in place along this section of highway in coming weeks.
