The Marshall County Rescue Squad was paged out for a missing man who fell out of a boat just before noon on Saturday. Soon after arriving, rescue squad officials transitioned to recovery mode.
According to Marshall County Deputy
Coroner Curt Curtner, the body of 57-year-old Willie Ray Morrow of
St. Louis was located and recovered. According to Curtner, witnesses said
Morrow apparently fell asleep while fishing and fell out of the boat. He apparently was not wearing a life jacket.
Curtner said there were three others on the boat with Morrow, but none of them were wearing life jackets either and none knew how to swim. He said those on the boat were not capable of saving Morrow without jeopardizing their own lives.
