The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) contractor clearing electrical transmission line right-of-ways in Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area entered Trigg County, Kentucky this week. The frozen ground is helping the TVA contractor to make progress along the transmission lines. Depending on weather conditions, work may be intermittent in coming weeks.

The TVA contractor began the project in the Neville Bay area and is slowly moving north, removing overgrowth that has encroached upon the area beneath the electrical lines. When completed, approximately 75 feet from the center on each side of electrical transmission lines will be cleared to help protect the lines from falling trees. Overgrowth will be removed along approximately 31 miles of electrical transmission lines in Land Between The Lakes.

Land Between The Lakes management asks visitors to take extra safety precautions traveling roads and trails that may cross under the electrical transmission lines during this time period.
