The Marshall County Sheriff's Office
said the crash happened around 3:45 pm on the onramp from the
Purchase Parkway to I-24 near Calvert City. Deputies said
51-year-old Jerry Thomas of Rockford, IL was exiting from the
Purchase Parkway to I-24 westbound when his load shifted, causing the truck and
trailer to overturn.
Thomas told police that when he came around the
curve, he saw a vehicle off the right shoulder of the ramp and he
pulled the wheel back and lost control.
Thomas was transported to Marshall County Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
