An investigation into several stolen golf carts has resulted in the arrest of a Hardin man on theft and other charges.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, seven golf carts, worth more than $38,000 were recently stolen from Kenlake State Park. All of the golf carts were eventually recovered, and deputies arrested a suspect, 50-year-old Jeffery L. Morrison, of Hardin on Tuesday during a traffic stop.

Morrison was booked into the Marshall County Detention Center on charges of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, tampering with physical evidence, and obscuring the identity of a machine.

Deputies said 33-year-old Justin Hanks of Benton was also arrested as part of the investigation. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies said more arrests in the case are pending.
