WINGO, KY - Two Graves County men have been arrested for breaking into a home in Wingo over the weekend. According to Sheriff Dewayne Redmon, his office received a 911 call regarding a home on Gardner Road that was broken into around 3 pm Saturday. The caller said a red truck pulling a trailer with a lawn mower on it had just left the home.
The caller said he observed two men attempting to load a very large flat screen TV in the truck. But when the two men saw the neighbor watching they threw the TV in the back of the truck and fled in the truck across the yard.
A truck and trailer matching the description was later found at an apartment on Chris Drive near Mayfield. Deputies responded and as one of the deputies was walking to the rear of the apartment, a man was exiting and attempting to go to another apartment next door to hide.
The man was identified as 28-year-old Jerry Tynes of Wingo, who had an outstanding bench warrant from Graves County for failure to appear. Contact was then made with other individuals inside the home.
After questioning was completed deputies arrested Tynes and 33-year-old Bobby Joe McCord of Mayfield. They were charged with burglary second degree, theft by unlawful taking over $500 and criminal mischief second degree.
Late Sunday afternoon deputies located the stolen TV at a home in Water Valley. The investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.
McCord and Tynes were lodged in the Graves County Jail.
