US-60 Bridge Closed for Inspection after Barge Hit

The U.S. 60 Cumberland River Bridge at Smithland is closed due to a barge hit on the in-water pier.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says several barges broke loose and strict the bridge pier. The bridge is closed pending a safety review by a KYTC bridge inspector.

The bridge is expected to be closed for one to two hours.
