Governor Bevin congratulated software and IT services provider United Systems on their new headquarters Wednesday.

The headquarters which ran $5.3 million dollars is based in Marshall County and is expected to create 50 full time jobs.

"Today's groundbreaking is a testament to the strong economic growth resulting from Kentucky's business-friendly practices," Gov. Bevin said. "This marks an exciting next step toward United Systems and Software's commitment to create high-quality, good-paying jobs in West Kentucky. We congratulate the company on this milestone and look forward to future successes."

State and local leaders joined the company executives and employees to celebrate Wednesday at the site of the planned headquarters in Benton's Southwest One Industrial Park.

Back in September of 2018 United had announced it's plans for the move from their current office on Ash Street to Southwest One, which makes it the industrial parks first tenant.

In addition to the new facilities, new office and electronic equipment will also be a part of the move.

United currently has 46 employees, and has been operating within Marshall County since 1977.

If United meets their annual targets over the agreement term, the company will be eligible to keep a portion of the new tax revenue they generate.  United can also receive resources from the Kentucky Skills Network, which will provide no-cost recruitment, job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job training incentives.
