A Graves County man was injured Saturday when he blacked out behind the wheel. Graves County sheriff’s deputies responded to 525 Darnell Road and found 25-year-old Anthony Stanley lying in his driveway, about 100 yards away from his vehicle, which was fully engulfed in flames.

Stanley told deputies he had been driving east along Darnell Road, when he blacked out. When he came to, he was lying in the road. Stanley told deputies he was able to walk back to his home and call 911.

Based on evidence at the scene, deputies believe Stanley lost control of his vehicle shortly after leaving his driveway. His vehicle left the road, traveled about 30 yards and struck some trees before coming to a stop. The vehicle then caught fire.

Members of the Sedalia Fire Department arrived on scene and put the fire out, before it spread to nearby woods. Stanley was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center to be treated for various injuries.
