After being closed for over two weeks due to flood waters, the Ballard County Wildlife Management Area will reopen on Saturday.

In a Facebook post, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Management officials said they were working to clean up behind the receding water.

The check station will open Saturday at 4:30 am and drawing will take place at 5 am.

Those whose names were drawn for hunting dates during the temporary closure will get their preference points back as if they were not drawn at all.

For more information regarding the Ballard WMA, please monitor the agency's Facebook page or call the waterfowl hotline at 270-224-2244.
