According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred on State Route 339 east of Wingo.
Deputies said 26-year-old Trevor Hicks of Clinton reportedly drove over a hill and hit the horse and buggy. Officers said that Hicks attempted to avoid the crash, but by the time he saw the horse and buggy it was already too late.
The owner of the horse and buggy, 29-year-old Nevin Byler of Wingo was transported to Baptist Health in Paducah for treatment of injuries.
