A west Tennessee woman faces drug charges after a crash on the Purchase Parkway Friday.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Tyrian Serrano, of Union City, TN, spun out of control near the 47 mile marker and struck a guardrail.

Deputies said they could smell an odor of marijuana in the vehicle and found a marijuana roach in the passenger seat. When Serrano was asked about the marijuana she reportedly told police she had smoked prior to driving. When asked about anything else illegal in the car, Serrano said she had a bag of marijuana in her purse.

Serrano was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure of owner to maintain required insurance.
