Deputies said 30-year-old Melinda Stratton was traveling south on US 45 South when she crossed over the center line, went off the east side of the roadway and struck a tree. According to police, Stratton was under the influence of drugs and cited to court due to her injuries.
Stratton was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for her injuries. She was cited to court for driving under the influence, failure to wear seat belt, possession of controlled substance 3rd degree and prescription controlled substance not in the proper container.
