The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close a section of U.S. 62 at Lovelaceville near the Ballard-Carlisle County line beginning today.

The daytime closure will begin at the 1 mile marker in Ballard County. This will allow for the placement of a 32 inch cross drain under the roadway. The project is part of ongoing drainage work along this section of U.S.62 between the county line and Lovelaceville.

U.S. 62 will close to all traffic at this location near the Mill Street intersection at 8 a.m. and should reopen at 5 p.m. depending on the weather.

There will not be a marked detour. However, those traveling through the area can self-detour through County Line Road, or KY 121 and KY 286 through Wickliffe.
