The amusement park formerly known for decades as Six Flags St. Louis has unveiled new signs changing its name to Mid America Adventure.

The park has operated as Six Flags in St. Louis since 1971.

The change marks the first time since the park opened 55 years ago as Six Flags Over Mid America that it does not have “Six Flags” in the name.

Enchanted Parks purchased the St. Louis park and six other Six Flags properties in April of this year.

Officials say that the water park Hurricane Harbor will also get a rebrand soon. The future of Looney Tunes characters and DC Comics superheroes at the park remains undetermined as licensing agreements are discussed.

The park is now open weekends, with its annual Fright Fest beginning in September.
