I-24 Drivers Should Watch For Bonnaroo Traffic
By West Kentucky Star Staff
TENNESSEE - Tennessee transportation officials are alerting anyone driving on I-24 over the next few days that a huge annual music festival could cause traffic issues.

The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival starts Thursday in Manchester, Tennessee, but gates have opened Wednesday for campers. The four-day, multi-stage event is one of the most popular live music festivals in the country each year, attracting about 70,000 attendees from now until Sunday night.

During the festival, the area in and around Manchester sees increased traffic volume, so the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are working closely with the Manchester Police Department, the Coffee County Sheriff's Department and festival promoters to keep traffic moving on I-24 while also getting Bonnaroo attendees to their destination.

Last year during Bonnaroo, troopers logged over 6,200 man-hours and wrote 1,111 citations.
