A small earthquake was picked up by sensors in northwest Tennessee on Friday night.
According to the US Geological Survey, the 2.2 magnitude quake took place at 9:25 pm. It was centered about 3.4 miles northwest of Ridgely, Tennessee, or about 12 miles northwest of Hayti, Missouri. The movement was approximately 6 kilometers underground.
The USGS says a quake of 2.5 is the threshold of humans being able to detect the ground shaking.
