Benton man charged with meth possession in traffic stop

A Benton man was charged with possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Friday.

Benton Police stopped a van around 2 a.m. on Valley Road. During the stop, a passenger in the van, 49-year-old Denny L. Cope was reportedly found to be in possession of 11.5 grams of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia hidden on his person and inside his boot.

Cope was placed under arrest and taken to the Marshall County Jail.
