Kentucky State Police provided an update on the officer-involved shooting that left one man dead on March 27th in Paducah.
According to the Kentucky State Police, three officers from the Department of Corrections, Probation, and Parole arrived at an apartment on Marquess Drive to conduct a home visit of Brandon Reed. Reed was supposed to be under supervision and had given that address on his official paperwork.
When officers arrived, 22-year-old Rayshawn Tucker reportedly came out of the back of the residence and came at an officer and stabbed him with what was described as an “edged weapon.” At that point, two other officers fired at and struck Tucker. Tucker was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Two of the officers were also taken to area hospitals, where they were treated and released.
The KSP Critical Response Team is continuing to investigate the case, but there is no timeline to complete it.
