Consumers are being asked to check insurance coverage sold to them by a recently arrested Murray insurance agent.

Calloway County Attorney Bryan Ernstberger told The Murray Sentinel Tuesday out of an abundance of caution, anyone who obtained insurance through David Ramey’s agency should contact the insurance company that issued the policy to verify that coverage is in effect.

He said anyone who finds out their policy is not in effect should contact his office at 270-753-3312.

The 59-year-old Ramey was arrested last week.  He's accused of accepting thousands of dollars in payments from a Graves County church without keeping its insurance in force.

It was also reported by The Murray Sentinel Ramey has a history of financial disputes dating back to 1997.
