Two people were arrested in connection with a Monday night pursuit that began in Cadiz and ended at Fort Campbell.

WKDZ reported Cadiz Police attempted to stop a vehicle on McRidley Street in connection with an emergency protective order and a vehicle parked on the side of the road.  The driver, 44-year-old Shalonda Cornett, fled at a high rate of speed going through Christian County.

Deputies with Christian County Sheriff’s Office said they tried to block Cornett's vehicle in the city of Lafayette, but she was able to get around them and traveled into Fort Campbell.  The vehicle went onto a range before crashing and overturning.

Cornett and 60-year-old James Acree were in the vehicle.  Both admitted to snorting cocaine before the pursuit began.

Cornett was charged with numerous traffic offenses along with criminal trespassing while Acree was charged with fleeing or evading police, criminal trespassing, menacing, and resisting arrest.
