A Mayfield man reportedly fled from a traffic stop, and was charged with endangering the woman and 2-year-old child in his vehicle.

When a Graves County deputy stopped the vehicle at North 12th Street and West Broadway for traffic violations, the driver, 21-year-old Ashton Sneathen, reportedly sped off at a high rate of speed on North 13th Street to KY 121.

The pursuit was terminated due to public safety as there was heavy traffic and continued through residential areas. Deputies said speeds reached more than 90 miles per hour on North 13th Street.

About three minutes later, someone called to report that the vehicle had turned down Copeland Road. Deputies located the vehicle at the dead end of Copeland Road in a field. Offiers found a female and a 2-year-old child inside the vehicle. The passenger stated that Sneathen had fled on foot.

After a brief search, Sneathen was found inside of an abandoned truck on Crittendon Lane.

Sneathen was arrested and charged with fleeing and evading; wanton endangerment; reckless driving; criminal trespassing; DUI with aggravated circumstances and possession of marijuana.
