Murray woman charged with assault after stabbing incident

A Murray woman has been charged with assault after a stabbing incident on Monday morning.

Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies went to a home on Kline Trail at about 2:30 a.m. after what was described as an altercation. According to their investigation, 54-year-old Laura French and another person were involved in a verbal exchange that escalated into French allegedly stabbing the other person in the neck.

The victim was taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment.

French was arrested and charged with assault and booked into the Calloway County Detention Facility.
