The National Weather Service has its eye on the southern edge of the massive smoke plume from Canadian wildfires that will be just to the north of our region this weekend.

On Sunday a cold front will stall out to our north, pulling the smoke along central Illinois into southern Indiana around Evansville and eastward toward the Indiana-Kentucky border.

Should the front sink any further south, there could be concerns for the smoke to affect the air quality in more of the Quad State, especially into the Pennyrile area.
