A significant number of road signs have gone missing lately, and Lyon County wants it to stop.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the County Road Department said they have been getting calls from citizens reporting several missing signs. The missing signs could potential slow an emergency response, but it’s also expensive.

Sheriff Brent White said, “Not only do these thefts risk lives, they also rob funds from other line items in the county budget that could be better spent.”

White said that if you have information on the culprit or where the signs might be, call the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at 270-388-0911 or 270-388-2311. White said callers can remain anonymous.

White added, “This may be someone outside of our county as we have heard of similar incidents in at least one adjacent county.”

Signs have been taken from Bent Tree Lane, Birdie Bannister, Confederate Road, Cummins Lane, Horseshoe Bend, Indian Hills Trail, Lazy K Lane, Poplar Creek Road, Travis Road, and Winchester Court.
