A Tennessee woman died after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 24 in McCracken County on Saturday morning.
Deputies responded to the 10 mile marker of I-24, where a car driven by 54-year-old Molly Gallimore of Paris, Tennessee left the road and hit the wall of a concrete culvert. The car ended up on its roof in 2 to 3 feet of water.
According to deputies, two off-duty FBI agents witnessed the crash and stopped to help. The agents freed Gallimore and her passenger, 54-year-old Roderick Gallimore, from the vehicle, and began CPR on Molly Gallimore.
Both were taken to an area hospital where Molly Gallimore later died.
Crews were on the scene for approximately four hours before Interstate 24 was fully reopened to traffic.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash is still under investigation by its reconstruction team.
