Fire destroys vehicle in Calloway County; driver escapes injury

A vehicle was destroyed by fire Sunday night in Calloway County.

According to Calloway County Fire and Rescue, they were called to the 200 block of Peach Orchard Road near Stella at approximately 5:30 pm.

They arrived to find a late model Jeep Grand Cherokee engulfed in flames.

The driver fled the vehicle before it became fully involved, and was medically cleared by Murray-Calloway EMS.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known. The driver told authorities that the vehicle experienced a malfunction, and after stopping, it caught fire.
