Warm temps this weekend could set records

Temperatures will continue to soar 20-30 degrees above normal today through this weekend. High temperatures will approach record levels each day.

Friday's high of 82 was just short of the day's record of 84, set in 2017. Saturday's forecast of 84 should eclipse the mark of 80 set last in 2012. If we reach 85 on Sunday as forecast, that would knock off the longstanding mark of 84 set in 1938.

A cold front will bring a small chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday night, mainly east of the Mississippi River. 

Behind the front, temperatures will temporarily cool back to near normal values for late March early next week, but will again rise to 10-20 degrees above normal for the second half of next week with another chance of showers and storms late in the week.
