A traffic stop ended with a drug trafficking arrest Sunday in McCracken County.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they stopped a vehicle on US 60 that led to the arrest of 35-year-old Bobby L. Tucker of LaCenter. They also seized a significant quantity of illegal narcotics, a loaded firearm, and cash—evidence consistent with drug trafficking activity.

A deputy conducted the stop due to a non-illuminated license plate. The deputy said he detected a strong odor of marijuana inside, but Tucker initially refused to exit the vehicle, then locked it while finally stepping out. When the deputy attempted to detain him, Tucker reportedly resisted but was ultimately handcuffed and taken into custody.

While searching Tucker, the deputy found a metal container in his pants pocket containing multiple baggies of suspected MDMA (Molly) and methamphetamine.

While searching the vehicle the deputy also allegedly found approximately 6.2 ounces of suspected meth, over one pound of suspected marijuana, a loaded handgun, digital scales and multiple baggies containing suspected Ecstasy, Suboxone, OxyContin, LSD, and Methadone. The deputy also recovered over $4,200 in cash

The Sheriff's Office said Tucker is a convicted felon with a prior conviction for trafficking in a controlled substance, and at the time of arrest, he was subject to an Emergency Protective Order (EPO) prohibiting him from possessing firearms.
