A man was convicted Thursday of killing his sister and will be sentenced next month.

According to the Lyon County Circuit Court Clerk's office, 68-year-old Arthur A. Long was found guilty of murder and theft by unlawful taking of an automobile.

Police responded December 1, 2016 to a home on Woodrow Street in Eddyville and found 68-year-old Nancy Minor unresponsive. She died from multiple blunt force injuries. Detectives suspected Long had taken her car, and obtained warrants for his arrest. He was arrested four days later near Cookeville, Tennessee.

The recommended sentence for Long is life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for December 3.
