Health Depts. Confirm More COVID Cases, 1 Death

WESTERN KENTUCKY; SOUTHERN ILLINOIS - Health Departments have updated their COVID-19 case numbers to include the weekend.

The Southern Seven Health Department said they are aware of 202 new cases and one new death since Friday. The death was a man in his 40s from Johnson County. The new cases include 50 in Union County, 22 in Johnson County, 8 in Pope County, 14 in Hardin County, 9 in Alexander County, 27 in Pulaski County, and 72 in Massac County. 

The Pennyrile District Health Department announced 99 new cases of the virus since Saturday. The new cases include 33 in Caldwell County, 28 in Livingston County, 20 in Trigg County, 12 in Crittenden County, and 6 in Lyon County.

The Graves County Health Department reports 75 new cases of the virus and 1 new death. The new cases raises the county's total to 1,603. 

On Saturday and Sunday, the Purchase District Health Department received notice of 123 cases of the virus. They include 16 in Ballard County, 8 in Carlisle County, 1 in Fulton County, 1 in Hickman County, and 97 in McCracken County. On Monday the health department reported 101 new cases of the virus, including 91 in McCracken County, 5 in Hickman County, 2 each in Fulton and Carlisle Counties, and 1 new case in Ballard County.

The Marshall County Health Department reported 3 new cases on Sunday afternoon. The county's totals are 898 cases and 11 deaths.

The Calloway County Health Department confirmed 16 additional cases of the virus on Sunday. On Monday, the health department reported 4 new deaths and 33 new cases. Their totals are 1,581 cases with 22 deaths since March.
