By West Kentucky Star Staff
CADIZ - A man has been arrested in connection to a homicide and arson investigation in Trigg County, and authorities are looking for another person who may have been involved.

Kentucky State Police say 42-year-old Jonathan R. McCoy of Cadiz has been charged with murder, kidnapping that led to a victim's death, arson, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.

The charges stem from from an investigation into a September 16 house fire on Will Jackson Road where the body of 81-year-old Thelma Barnett was found. Police said at the time they believed Barnett was killed before the fire was intentionally set.

Troopers say they would like to question 29-year-old Keisha D. Stewart of Cadiz as their investigation continues. They believe she may be in the Cadiz or Hopkinsville area.

Anyone with information on Stewart's whereabouts is asked to contact Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-4856-3721. Anonymous tips can be provided by calling 800-222-5555 or by using the KSP app.
