Paducah Chamber To Host PPP Webinar Wednesday
By West Kentucky Star Staff
PADUCAH - The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a webinar Sept. 30 on the Paycheck Protection Program Loan Forgiveness as part of its September Small Business Celebration.

The Chamber has hosted an educational seminar for small businesses every Wednesday at 8 a.m. throughout the month on topics of marketing, how to manage cash flow during economic uncertainty, and how to overcome obstacles and push forward to be successful.

The Chamber says its final seminar on September 30 will help business owners better understand the rules for the SBA’s PPP Loan Forgiveness. Seminar sponsors are FNB Bank and Lundberg Medical Imaging.

“Since its creation in March, more than 48,000 Kentucky businesses have received PPP loans valued at $5.2 billion. What made the PPP program so popular was the ability for businesses to have their loans forgiven, effectively making them grants. However, the loans came with specific criteria that needed to be fulfilled in order to have them forgiven. This webinar will help our local small businesses get the clarity they need for loan forgiveness,” said Chamber President Sandra Wilson.

The virtual event, “PPP: From Loan to Grant, Next Steps,” will feature panelists Lori Noel of FNB Bank; Ashley Grooms of Williams, Williams & Lentz; and Mark Hequembourg of Kemper CPA.

Lori Noel has been in the banking industry for over 28 years.  She has served in many areas of the bank with primary focus in lending.  Lori has been with FNB since 2008 and currently serves as the Chief Lending Officer.

Ashley Grooms is a partner of Williams Williams & Lentz, LLP. She has practiced accounting for 15 years in Mayfield and Paducah. Her primary focus is on individual and corporate tax preparation, tax planning, and small business consulting.

Mark Hequembourg is a partner with Kemper CPA Group LLP. He has been in public accounting in Paducah for 27 years.  Mark has a wide range of experience in public accounting with a focus in business and individual tax compliance and planning, business valuation, and consulting.
